On September 26th, F5 gave birth to it's first forum:

Designed for women who, through circumstance or choice, are compelled to reinvent their lives in profound and meaningful ways, the event promised the fifty fabulous female participants inspiration and tools geared to propel them toward the future they desire and deserve.

The day turned out to be magical and inspirational.

  • Denise Brouillette opened the program by inspiring us to create the "footprint" we leave in the earth: "Be Your Own Hero". She left us with the important words: Leave your imprint; Never lose sight of your vision; Give it your all.
  • Dory Willer followed Denise with a content-rich work session that led us through a process of identifying our personal values, passions and thrive factors as a way of ensuring that the next phase of life we engineer is aligned. We grappled with the question...If you can't get out of it, get into it. If you can't get into it, get out of it. It's always your choice.
  • Next, Dottie Gandy, talked us through the "Choices that make good women great?". Exercises and inspiring stories led us to discover: Thoughtful, intentional choice is the most important and potent tool you have at your disposal; Saying yes to saying no is a choice that transforms your life; Acknowledging yourself and those around you is a choice that can define your destiny; You have never made your last choice, because there is always a next choice.
  • And finally, Rita Bailey spoke about "When Transition Becomes Transformation?". We looked at the emotional and perceived barriers, fears & obstacles that line our path of transition and developed strategies for stepping beyond the barriers and toward transformation.
  • And finally, we were treated to the poetry and stories from Dancing Naked...in fuzzy red slippers, read by the author, Carmen Richardson-Rutlen, resplendent in a red boa and matching stilettos and a wicked sense of humor that both charmed and delighted.

Quotes from a few of the fabulous female attendees:

My biggest “take-away”…

"My strongest impression was the caliber of the speakers. Each woman was brilliant, articulate, and had a passion to help change the world. The speakers were excellent, but so was the audience. It seems the audience was also filled with brilliant, articulate and passionate women...and that made for an incredible day."

"The f5 forum was a perfect jump-start to re-inventing the life of my dreams. I truly felt that after completing this forum I could be so much more than I am. What an amazing and scary thing. I can't wait to tackle all of the "to do's” formulated from that day."

"We were asked to write an acknowledgement letter to someone who has changed our lives. I wrote three of them on Sunday. What a great exercise!"

"Discovering I was a leader but that I wasn't in a leadership role motivated me to seek such a role. The support of the group and the guidance of the speakers gave me confidence to give it a try.
I’m ready to recommend the forum to my friends…"

"I have already recommended this forum to my friends. I told them it was inspirational and powerful. I told them it was so honoring to be in a room of high intent, and in the presence of such powerful and successful women."

"I think this forum is ideal for women that have been afraid to take the leap and make a change in their lives. I think that it is really a forum for women in their 40's and 50's that are at a crossroads where children are leaving the nest and they now would like to reinvent where and what they are doing with their lives."

I love the speakers…

"This was a very positive experience. It made me think about not only the heroes in my life, but how I can also be a hero. Loved it!"

"I think this was my favorite section. Dory really gets to the heart of things in a fun and entertaining way. It helped me identify my thriving force and I love it!"

"SOOOO cogent. So authentic. I'd follow Dottie anywhere."

"Great mixture of real life experience and corporate together. Nice blending. She kept is personal and powerful."
