F⁵ is an outgrowth of Live and Leap, Inc., a business venture created to provide inspiration, tools, and community for women who are compelled to reinvent their lives in profound and meaningful ways. Our first focus is producing thematic forums aimed at inspiring a female audience. The kick-off forum theme emerged as a response to the growing population of women who are concerned, even obsessed, with creating a meaningful legacy. The catalyst for this movement varies: financial resources wane due to the economy; jobs are lost; careers no longer fulfill; empty nests emphasize lack of purpose; retirement is not enough to sustain the creative mind.

A growing number of women are driven to create a legacy that unequivocally shouts above the noise, "I was here! And things are different…better…because of me”.

Future forums will focus on other topics of interest – not all of them so weighty. What all forums will have in common is this: they will be by-women for-women; they will be based on an abiding respect and love for the women they serve; they will appeal to those women who are striving for better; and they will be, above all, infused with humor and fun.

The brainstorming process continued to surface themes that began with the letter “F”. The F-words resonated almost as a force to be reckoned with. Not just the infamous F-word (irreverent but so expressive), but inspirational words such as fabulous and female; fun and finesse; footprint and fellowship; fate and fantasy; fashion and fitness; and, of course, fulfillment and future.

And so it was that F-words gave birth to this event series for women, now known as F⁵.
